FlyLady & Company, INC. launched the No More Parents Left Behind website, an invaluable resource for parents.  No More Parents Left Behind is an eBook accompanied by 46 downloadable tools: personal assignments, challenges, online resources, organizers, quizzes, and worksheets to help parents navigate the often frustrating world of Public Education.

The website, located at www.nomoreparentsleftbehind.com, was designed and deployed in Washington by DKM Studios, a client-centric organization specializing in IT consulting services and web development.

Alice Wellborn, MA, NCSP

Alice Wellborn attended seven different public schools in three different states, finally graduating in 1970 from Bel Air Senior High School in Bel Air, Maryland. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Scripps College in Claremont, California, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1974.  She then earned a Master’s degree in Psychology from George Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee, completing the Child Development Specialist program in 1976.

Alice began her professional career on a multi-disciplinary team at the Duke Developmental Evaluation Center in Durham, North Carolina.  She took a school psychology job in Transylvania County Schools in Brevard, North Carolina in 1978, and she has been there in one way or another ever since.  Alice currently serves two elementary schools and the school system’s preschool program.  She and her colleagues do their best to make good things happen for children.

Alice’s auxiliary career as a public school parent began in August 1990 when Sam entered kindergarten and ended in June 2006 when Frederick graduated from high school.  Three boys x 13 years of school = a lot of time and a lot of teachers. She is grateful to everyone who helped her boys on their journey through public education.  The teachers the boys selected as their Most Memorable Teachers are Nancy (Portman) Grogan, Karen Kreigsman, and Joe Russo.  A special thanks to them.

Alice is a nationally-certified school psychologist through the National Association of School Psychologists and a licensed psychological associate through the North Carolina State Psychology Board. She has been active in the North Carolina School Psychology Association for many years. She participated in writing a position paper on High Stakes Testing, and she was a major contributor to a position paper on Grade Retention. She and two colleagues did a presentation on grade retention at the 2007 Raising Achievement and Closing the Gap conference in North Carolina. Most recently, she began a two-year term as a Mountain Regional Representative for NCSPA. Alice was awarded a NCSPA Presidential Award of Honor in 2002 for her advocacy on behalf of children.

Alice loves public schools, she loves being a school psychologist, and she loves being a mother. How lucky can you be?
